Wisdom Bahrain is the data controller for personal information handled through the Wisdom Bahrain member app, this website (wisdombahrain.org) and related member services. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Because membership of an Islamic organisation may reveal religious belief, we handle relevant membership information as sensitive personal data under Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law.
Camera access is used only when you choose to scan an event QR code, take a profile photo or use an image-related feature. A profile photo you choose is uploaded to Wisdom Bahrain. QR camera images are processed for scanning and are not stored.
Approximate location is requested only when you choose to find nearby classes. It is used on your device to calculate distance and is not sent to the Wisdom Bahrain server.
We use information to provide and secure membership and sign-in services; operate programmes, attendance, volunteering, learning, communications and member support; send enabled notifications; maintain necessary records; comply with applicable obligations; and improve app and website reliability and features.
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure general screen and page usage and app performance. Advertising identifiers and ad-personalisation signals are disabled. Firebase may process technical information such as device type, operating system, app instance information and general usage events under Google’s service terms and privacy documentation.
On this website, Google Analytics runs only if you choose Allow on the analytics banner. You can change this by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
We also use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Information may be processed by Google or its service providers outside Bahrain, subject to their contractual and security safeguards.
We do not sell personal information and do not use it for behavioural advertising.
Access is limited according to organisational responsibilities. For example, authorised unit secretaries can access members of their unit, authorised callers see details needed for assigned calls, and authorised administrators manage the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or when necessary to protect users, Wisdom Bahrain or the service.
Records are deleted or anonymised when no longer required.
The app and website send information over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access is restricted through member authentication and role-based controls. No electronic service can guarantee absolute security, but we use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information handled.
Subject to Bahrain’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018), you may ask to access, correct, obtain a copy of, object to certain processing of, or delete your personal information.
Members can download their data or request deletion from their profile. You can also disable camera, location or notification permissions in device settings, although the related features may stop working.
The app is intended for authorised Wisdom Bahrain members and invited users. A parent or guardian who believes that a child’s information has been provided without appropriate authority should contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
We may update this policy when the app, the website, our practices or legal requirements change. The updated version and date will be displayed here. Where required, we will ask members to review and accept material changes.
